The Children's Ministry of Bell Shoals Baptist Church is dedicated to the spiritual growth of our children, while at the same time concerned about the total growth of each child. We provide a wide range of age-related programs and activities for the first to sixth grader.
SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE FELLOWSHIP
1st - 6th grade children are encouraged to attend Bible Fellowship at 8 a.m., 9:15 a.m. or 11 a.m and to attend Worship Service with their family at either 9:15 a.m. or 11 a.m.
Children's classes meet in the 'B' Building. 1st graders meet downstairs, 2nd-6th graders meet upstairs. There are signs in the halls to direct you or you may also ask anyone wearing a Bell Shoals photo ID.
WEDNESDAY ACTIVITIES
"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.' " Mark 16:15
Children accompany parents to Wednesday Night Supper from 5 to 6:30 for Family Fellowship Supper with their parents or friends. There is a special children's menu, with foods kids like hamburgers and hot dogs (and always pizza!). Reservations are not needed.
Children's Choir - 6 p.m. (See information below)
From 7 until 8:10 p.m., there is "KIDS ON MISSION," with Girls in Action (G.A.s) for girls and Royal Ambassadors (R.A.s) for boys. These groups learn about the importance of missionaries and do missions projects and activities to increase their awareness. There are also fun special activities with parents.
There is an optional Recreation time (called EXTRA! from 8:10-8:30 for children who want or need to stay).
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
The activities for children are developed by Mrs. Janie Guffey, Minister of Children.
BIBLE SKILLS, DRILLS, AND THRILLS The Bible Drill program is for all 4th-6th graders and Bible Buddies is for 2nd and 3rd graders and only asks for a 4-month commitment but will benefit you the rest of your life!
SKILLS / Learn the books of the Bible in order and be able to find them quickly / Learn 10 key passages and be able to locate them quickly / Memorize 25 scripture verses
DRILLS / Weekly practice drills quoting verses and locating books and passages in the Bible /
THRILLS / Games, activities, and challenges each week that make the learning FUN! Rewards for your hard work: a Bible if you pass the Church Level, a day to celebrate at a water park if you pass the Associational Level, recognition and satisfaction in achieving the State Level. Knowing you have honored God by learning and memorizing the Bible.
BIBLE BUDDIES is also available for 2nd & 3rd graders. This program helps prepare them for Bible Drill. There is no competition at this level.
Join us on Tuesdays from 5:00-6:00 starting January 8, 2013 through April 16, 2013 in the Multi-Purpose Center.
"Let's Do Lunch" Club - Three days a week during the school year, Ms. Janie and Ms. Amanda have lunch with a child either at their school or at a restaurant (for home schooled children). This club runs during the school year. Children sign up to become members of the "Let's Do Lunch" Club through their Bible Study classes. (During any school year, there have been over 120 lunches in school cafeterias and local restaurants as Janie and a child "do lunch.") Click here to register. 1st - 3rd graders have lunch with Ms. Janie and 4th - 6th graders have lunch with Ms. Amanda.
Celebration Days - During the school year, on children's days off, special Celebration days are scheduled for specific grades. Children spend the day at the skating rink, going to the movies, having pizza or other fun activities.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR

Children participate in age-graded children's choirs. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Children's choirs participate in occasional evening worship services throughout the year and special productions.
FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN
We try throughout the year to keep parents involved and apprised of what is happening for the children of Bell Shoals Baptist Church. Through articles in our weekly bulletin, mailings, monthly Parent Link newsletter and this website we alert you to special events coming up. We also have special family activities, such as skate parties and movie nights to name a few. You can find us on Facebook by searching for 'Kid Central at Bell Shoals Baptist Church.'
CHILDREN'S NEW BELIEVER CLASS
"... but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18
Any child desiring to join Bell Shoals Baptist Church by baptism should attend a 4-week New Believer's class taught on Sunday mornings. This class is taught for four weeks every month starting with the first Sunday in B209. Before children are baptized, they have a personal session with Ms. Janie or Ms. Amanda to clarify their decision for Jesus and desire for baptism. Other opportunities for Christian Growth are offered through Children's Bible Drill, retreats, and special classes. Children's Bible Drill runs from January through April on Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m. in the MPC. (**Please note: The New Believer's Class will NOT be held in December. The first class in January will be on January 8th.)
